Remember when the buyer enters your home It’s Showtime!!! To enhance his/her perception, use the following list as a guide to maximize the benefits your home has to offer. Space, Access, Roominess, and Condition!
OUTSIDE YOUR HOME – CURB APPEAL IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO HOME BUYERS:
* Cut and edge the lawn weekly for a clean finished appearance.
* Trim all shrubbery and remove low lying tree limbs.
* Fertilize your lawn to make your grass look lush and green.
* Plant flowers in your front yard – adding color is always a positive.
* Paint any trim that is blistering and/or cracking.
* Replace any downed shutters or gutters and remove any gutter debris.
* Repaint or restain the front door to create a pleasant first impression.
* Replace any torn screens from windows.
INSIDE YOUR HOME:
* Paint walls and woodwork where necessary.
* Clean carpets and stretch if loose.
* Fix any dripping faucets; many times it is only a washer that is needed.
* Replace the old caulking around bathtubs.
* Place deodorizers in rooms where needed; especially if you have pets.
* Clean out all closets so they do not look cluttered and small.
* Avoid too many appliances on the kitchen counters, put some of them away to expose maximum counter space.
* Pre-pack items which may clutter your home. Extra toys and knick-knacks may actually make your rooms appear smaller.
* Be sure all baseboards and fans are clean.
* Organize your garage – many times that is the only room the man cares about!
